Hi,

Quick question.
Why is my Foscam IP Camera connecting to a server in the members.linode.com domain?
It is using UDP/8081 and it sends multiple messages each minute.
Does it has something to do with the DDNS feature?

Kind regards,

Dominic

If you ask this question seriously, but before you connect a camera, you should first think about what you're doing. ... Or should only a link to a cloud provider be placed here?

If your question is serious ... Unplug network cable or prevent access to the Wlan and reset the camera to the factory state (Reset). And then read first the manual to the camera in peace through, quiet also several times. And if you still have questions ... gladly here in the forum.

Greetings - Jan

Is your comment on this really serious, Jan? Why in the world would I provide a partial link to a cloud provider? You should first think about that before you are posting.

It isn't a WLAN, it is connected to an isolated VLAN powered via POE.
Now you are telling me, that in this nice little manual will be clearly explained why it is using UDP/8081 while UPNP/DDNS etc. are turned off? It would be nice to know that, since Foscam themselves can't explain so far what is happening.

But... I have a few links for you... which I doubt you will find in your manual.
